About Slapshot Manager

Slapshot Manager is a free ice hockey online manager game where all users play each other in one shared league pyramid. Every manager runs one club. The clubs that don't have a manager yet are run by the game under the same rules, so every series has its twelve teams from the start, and real managers take them over as they join.

The heart of the game is the matches. Each one is played out play by play from the players on the ice and the tactics of both teams, and you watch it live at its starting time on a 2D rink, with a game clock, the score, penalties and text commentary. You can drop into a game halfway through,

follow a few at once, or watch the replay afterwards. It is a nice feeling to see a line you put together score the winner, and a little painful when your goalie lets one in from the blue line.

Between games you run the club. You pick your lines and defence pairs, set up the power play and the penalty kill, choose how the team plays in each part of the game, and give the bench a few rules for when to pull the goalie or call a timeout. You sign players at auctions and with offers to other clubs, renew contracts, bring up juniors from your academy and keep an eye on the money, the arena and what the board thinks.

A season is fifteen game weeks: a league where every team meets the others home and away, then playoffs, promotion and relegation, a cup for teams from every division, and a World Championship between national teams at the end. Players get older, get better or worse, and retire, so the squad you have today won't be the one you have in a few seasons.

The game runs on its own clock, whether you are logged in or not, and everything

a manager can decide has an automatic answer. A few minutes a week is enough to keep your club going, and you can spend as much time as you like on the details.
