News: Who are the top three quarterbacks

in the NFL today?

20.06.2025 - It’s the most critical position in the NFL and might be the most crucial in all sports. Quarterbacks make or break the fortunes of NFL teams, and it’s tough to win without a competent player under center.

Game NFL lines can swing drastically when a great quarterback is available for his team, and we’ll take a look at the three best passers in the league today.

Patrick Mahomes

Even though he got knocked around during Super Bowl LIX, starting a list of the best quarterbacks in the NFL without the Kansas City Chiefs signal caller is hard. Mahomes is one of one; his arm talent is exceptional. He gets the ball out at unique angles with zip behind it, which makes it difficult for defenders to key in on the ball.

It’s hard to argue that anyone in NFL history has had a better start to their career than Mahomes has. He led the Chiefs to the AFC championship game in his first campaign as a starter and had three Super Bowl rings before the age of thirty.

Mahomes knows it will take more Super Bowl victories for him to be revered as the greatest quarterback ever. He’s acknowledged that consistency matters in conversations amongst all-time greats. With that said, it feels like a virtual lock that Mahomes can engineer a drive down the field in the fourth quarter to tie or win a game.

Josh Allen

Allen has often tried to knock Mahomes out of the AFC playoffs but has never succeeded. That shouldn’t take away from the sensational level of play the Buffalo Bills quarterback has registered over the last few years. He’s essentially been a one-person offense, firing the ball downfield with arguably the strongest arm in the league while taking off for critical first downs and touchdowns when his team needs them most.

He’s been called the best player in the NFL right now, and it’s easy to see why. Allen gets it done in every way and is also one of the most durable players. At 6’5” and 237 pounds, Allen is bigger than many players trying to take him to the ground.

There is only one hurdle left for Allen to overcome: winning a Super Bowl. He’ll be discussed in a different light if he can win at least one ring.

Lamar Jackson

Jackson is in a similar position as Allen. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback is one of the best players in the NFL, period. Fans and critics have doubts about him come playoff time, but there’s no denying that Jackson has established himself as one of the most dangerous players in the NFL.

The two-time MVP is a threat to go the distance anytime he carries the ball. Jackson brings speed to the quarterback position, unlike almost anyone we’ve ever seen. Defenses must be prudent to stay in their gaps so they don’t give up a huge chunk of yardage on the ground.

Others might believe that Joe Burrow should be on this list, or perhaps Jayden Daniels should crack the top three after a tremendous rookie season. They’re both great players in their own right, but Jackson has been doing it at a higher level for a bit longer.
