News: NFL Quarterbacks With the Most Touchdown Passes in 2021/22

The Top 5 Touchdown Pass Scoring Quarterbacks in 2021-22

24.01.2022 - With the announcement of NFL MVP growing closer every day, people are starting to wonder who will claim the title this year.
There are many different categories that are considered when choosing the MVP, one of these categories is touchdowns scored and most touchdown passes.

Today, we are going to look at the 5 men who lead the league in touchdown passes and the man who lead the league last year.

Here are the 5 men with the most touchdown passes in the 2021-22 season.

2020-21 Leader - Aaron Rodgers
Green Bay Packers
48 Touchdown Passes

Before we look at the men at the top of this year's list, we thought we should take a stroll down memory lane and look at last year's winner - Aaron Rodgers.

Last year, Rodgers led the league with 48 touchdown passes. This may seem like a lot, but it wasn't enough to get him into the top 5 of all time (Payton Manning holds the top spot, Patrick Mahomes is in 3rd, and Tom Brady holds spots 2, 4, and 5).

However, Rodgers threw more touchdown passes last season, than anyone did this season.

#5 - Dak Prescott
Dallas Cowboys
37 Touchdown Passes

Prescott might be the most underrated and underpraised quarterback in the NFL.

This was his 6th season for the Cowboys, during this season he took his career passing yards record to 22,083 and his touchdown pass total to 143.

37 touchdown passes is a career best for Prescott and he much improved on his 9 passes last season.

Sadly, we won't see any more of Prescott this season after his team was knocked out of the playoffs by the 49ers, and Prescott was fined $25,000 for comments made about the ref.

#4 - Aaron Rodgers
Green Bay Packers
37 touchdown passes

Rodgers has had a controversial season in 2021, but that has not stopped him from racking up the touchdowns.

Rodgers ended the season with 37 touchdown passes - 11 less than last year. Rodgers played exactly the same amount of games in both seasons.

Rodgers has thrown a total of 443 touchdown passes for the Green Bay Packers, making him the highest-scoring player on the team. He overtook Brett Favre in the final week of the season.
Again, we will not see Rodgers scoring more touchdown passes throughout the playoffs as the Packers were knocked out over the weekend.

#3 - Justin Herbert
Los Angeles Chargers
38 Touchdown Passes

Herbert is another high-scoring quarterback that we have lost in the first round of the playoffs this year. We are a little sad that we won't get to see more of last year's Rookie of the Year in 2022.

Last year he threw 31 touchdown passes - which is a record for NFL rookies, and this year he upped that number to 38.

He is the youngest player on this list by far and we are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to the game in the future. Could he be another superstar?

#2 - Matthew Stafford
Los Angeles Rams
41 Touchdown Passes

Stafford was traded to the Ram at the start of this season by the Lions. Many Rams fans may have been skeptical about what Stafford could offer them but he appears to have been a good player stuck in a bad team.

Stafford has put in multiple personal bests this season - including most games one in a season.

#1 - Tom Brady
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
43 Touchdown Passes

Topping yet another list this year is Tom Brady - possibly the most successful quarterback of all time.

While 43 touchdown passes are not a personal best for Brady (his PB is 50 touchdown passes in one season) he does lead the league again this year. As he had done in 5 previous seasons.

Brady also led the league in passes attempted (PB), and passing yards (PB) this season. As well as setting an NFL record for most passes completed in a single season - 485 passes (PB).

Brady is another player on this list who lost in the first round of the playoffs.

* This isn't the only list that Tom Brady has topped in his life, and it probably isn't the only list that he will top this year. However, we are all waiting with anticipation to see if Stafford and the Rams will win the Super Bowl title this year.
