I play in this league. It is fabulous. A great community where everyone helps the new players out. Really competative at the sharp end of the competition but a great laugh at the same time. Prepare yourself to become truly addicted!!

Started off in 1 league and now play in 3. Excellent leagues and very easy to learn. If you fancy being the new Ferguson or Wenger come along and enjoy being a virtual Football manager.

I'm in all 5 leagues & they are all great in their own way,the banter is great & there is an active trade market in all of them which is my forte hence my name, come on over & I'll do you a deal!

It's a great friendly league. Very enjoyable with plenty of banter & plenty of helpful people to the new guy. Very rewarding in every way!!!

I've playing in these leagues for a few years. You can give it 5 minutes of your time a week or a little more. It's not rocket science and very easy to get started.

I first joined trying to figure out why this was so popular but the strategy and the participation are the best I've been a part of regardless of the league. Easy to learn hard to master and no two leagues are quite the same.

Its a fantastic game. Has enough complexity to allow people scope to develop their own unique strategies whilst being easy to follow. Good interaction with managers through Blogs / Journals etc

I've been playing in SESL (one of the five Olmec leagues) since season 5 (we're in 24 now) and still find it challenging and more importantly fun. The interaction / community spirit between the managers is excellent and the commissioners ensure the that gaming experience is continuously under review and evolving for the enjoyment of the players.

An easy game to play but difficult to excel at. Good fun and free to play. Give it a try nothing to lose.

Unbelievably addictive. Easy to get started but there's plenty to keep things interesting. Every league is slightly different with different people in them but they are all enjoyable.

Great game with lots of active coaches. Now i play in 2 leagues and enjoy every minute of it. It is easy to start and when you are on your way, you can get as deep in the game as you wish.

Following the leagues for the last 8 years and still enchanted by the fundamental concepts: simplicity with endless possibilities.

Things that really set these leagues apart :- small but very vibrant community where you feel you know & can relate to each other manager which is so much more enjoyable than playing in leagues with hundreds of managers; the unique concept of training/coaching your players and the direct decisions you are called upon to make for the same making the whole process of team-building so much satisfying; very simple but highly engaging team control including the economics.

So enchanted am I with the simulator features and these league structures that I try to run my own league once in a while; not with much success though! :)

This was the second OLMEC league I joined and as some have already noted -- the games are extremely addictive.

Game play and preparation are relatively easy, though it can take several seasons to "master" the nuances of the different leagues/games. That being said, the leagues are easy enough for a novice to pick up quickly and still challenging for seasoned veterans after multiple campaigns.

The socialization within the various leagues is a wonderful part of the overall community. Friendly banter pre- and post-game is the norm; it's welcomed by many actually.

I am charmed with the football and the strategy ... .. nowadays only I take part in SESL,the league with more level and competitiveness to which I have played in Olmec leagues).

Having joied this only a few months ago to get back into the origanal united games i have broadened out to play in 3 leagues now. Managing Rochester in OASL, Sporting fans in SFSL, and Cardiff in MSWL United. This is a great format and all bring me enjoyment win, draw or day i say it lose. The banter between managers is also brilliant!!

This is a game for managers to immerse themselves into their team - club players are not numbers - they have names, past histories and achievements, and are treated as such. Experience the trading/auctions/various tema tactics and formations and see immediately how each one will affect your lineup. Earn bonuses for your team by doing a Blog, a Team Journal, or pre and post match commenting. I play in 4 set ups, and will be running the new training League from 2nd May (ODFL). Come and pick up one of the 16 real name teams who will start this League from late May.

Excellent format, extremely fun. I've taken up one team, and the community has been fantastic. Great people, great game. Everybody is very willing to help you learn (It's quite quick to pick it up) and the strategy is lots of fun. I would highly recommend this to anybody who is looking for an interactive football manager game with just the right amount of complexity to make it very interesting without making your brain hurt. Excellent game.

Still the best on line Footie Manager game on the Web!

What's also good about it is that Olmec have now created an 8 team "Trainer" league so new lads can get to grips with the system before joining an established set up - and still play a full 2 Cups and a 28 game League programme.

Great leagues to play in, friendly with some good banter between managers, easy to play if you like management games with interaction then this will appeal to you.You dont have to be a football nut to enjoy these games.
2011-05-23 11:24:41 Colin (unregistered) IP: 82.6.*.*
The leagues are expanding so get in quick! There is a great wee training league, but that too is against real people. Lots of fun.
2011-06-02 00:23:07 Hamish (unregistered) IP: 86.161.*.*
The trainer league has been expanded - it's now 3 x 8 team divisions due to the interest. Still about 4 teams available but no time wasters please - we want to train up interested managers who wish to enjoy their football!
2011-06-08 11:21:22 GMcD (unregistered) IP: 88.96.*.*
Good thing about this is the trainer league. Spend a season there to get used to the game and its system. Then move onto one of the senior leagues. This then means theres less churn/disruption as any folk who drop out for whatever reason quickly are only doing it in the trainer league. Trainer league also has seasoned managers helping out newcomers and taking up the slack of abandoned trainer teams to keep it competitive too.

I have been playing in OlmecFM leagues for a couple of years and can confirm the fun time to be had. We welcome new managers eagerly as they (YOU) always add a new vision to the game. It can be daunting, playing a new game. Olmec is fairly simple but has a complexity that none have ever mastered, yet...

Fantastic online game. I have been a part of for around 13 years. I have watched the game develop and the complexity increase. There is now enough to keep anyone busy. A great group of plyers with some good banter and healthy competition. With a mixed bunch of people! Easy to pick up.

Great game - and it isn't one of those where the same people/teams win everything all the time either, everyone has a realistic chance of doing well.

Been playing these games for years and still get a buzz waiting for the results to tick over. It can be a little daunting at first but there are plenty of people willing to help get you going.

I have played in the Olmec for around a year, starting in the training league. Excellent gaming with a great community. All in it to win, but everybody helps each other out. Currently playing in two leagues with hours of lost time playing these leagues

Olmec FM has a beautiful simplicity and online format that makes it easy to get started, yet is complex enough to keep players engrossed for many seasons.

I have been playing now for over 10 years and won a few cups/titles but many more friends!

They now have many different Leagues running with their own unique challenges and rewards but always a warm welcome and plenty of support for new players.
